Hot buttered surfboards are a brand of surfboards that was founded in 1971 by Terry Fitzgerald, a legendary Australian surfer and shaper. The brand became well-known for its innovative designs and high-quality craftsmanship, and quickly gained popularity among surfers all over the world.

Over the years, Hot buttered surfboards have been ridden by some of the world's best surfers, including Terry Fitzgerald himself, as well as Tom Carroll, Barton Lynch, and Damien Hardman. The brand has also sponsored numerous surf events and competitions, including the World Surfing Championships.

The K-9 from Hot Buttered is a performance shortboard. Perfect for tight turns, knifing hollows waves and smashing apart long points. The K-9's fin set up is 5 x FCS 2 meaning you can ride it as a Quad or Thruster set up. It has a pin tail for hollow waves. lots of nose and tail rocker for steep takes offs. The K-9 also comes equipped with a set of 3 x hard plastic fins.

The Hot Buttered K-9 has been refined with more forward curve in the planshape, and with extra foam under the chest allowing for great paddle power. The K9’s refined round tail and single to double concave total to an all round smooth ride with either a quad or tri fin set up. A fraction more tail-lift, extra length, width and volume brings shortboard performance to a volume ride if you are looking for a Indo or step-up board.
